Window film & glass work in Colaba

Colaba's building stock is the oldest we work with, and heritage glazing needs assessment before anything goes on it — old glass is thinner, unevenly annealed and more prone to thermal stress. Causeway retail is the commercial side, and the Cuffe Parade towers are conventional modern sun control work.

Colaba questions

Can window film be applied to heritage building glass in Colaba?
Usually, but it needs assessment first. Old glass is often thinner and unevenly annealed, which makes it vulnerable to thermal stress cracking if you fit a dark, high-absorption film. On heritage glazing we normally specify a clear UV or low-absorption film, and we check the pane condition and frame before quoting.
Do you need heritage committee permission for film in Colaba?
For interior-applied film that doesn't change the external appearance, generally not — but buildings inside the heritage precinct have their own rules, and reflective or mirrored film that alters how the facade reads from the street can require approval. We'll flag it if your building falls in that category, and recommend a neutral film instead.
